Classroom Rules:
Tardiness and absences:
If a student is late for class, they will be marked tardy. It is the responsibility of the student to keep a record of tardiness; I may not necessarily alert you that you were marked tardy.
Class disruptions will result in the following measures:
1. A verbal warning will be issued to the student.
2. If the issue persists even after a verbal warning, a conversation with the student about the issue will occur.
3. A detention will be issued and a guardian will be contacted about the issue, should it persist even after a warning and a conversation.
5. A disciplinary referral will be issued if the behavior continues after detention.
**Major infractions (i.e. violence, illicit substances, harassment) will be referred to administration.
Plagiarism Note:
All work submitted is expected to be the student’s own work. This includes homework. No collaboration or outside help is to be received on any assignment unless specifically stated by the instructor. Any opinion or information drawn from an outside source must be documented according to the specifications of the Modern Language Association (MLA). A student who submits work that is either not his/her own or without clear attribution to the original source is guilty of plagiarism and will receive a grade of zero for that assignment. Other consequences, including a discipline referral, will be assessed based on Glidden-Ralston guidelines.

- A charged iPad. Readings and assignments will be completed online each day.
- Sticky notes, highlighters, and white out
- Binder with paper
- Blue/black/red ballpoint pens and pencils
- Folder
Classroom Procedures:
- I expect students to come to class prepared. This means that homework must be completed prior to entering the room and iPads must be charged. See the late work policy below.
- If you are absent, or if I am absent, it is your responsibility to find out about work missed and complete it on time. Always check Google Classroom and assume that there is work to be completed.
- I may give announced or unannounced quizzes, so always come to class prepared.
- Tardiness will be marked in Infinite Campus and will result in detention. After entering the classroom in a timely, respectful manner, students will quietly take out materials for class. We will begin with a warm-up while I set up and take attendance.
- Cell phones must be on silent at all times. They may be placed in a bag or on the desk. If you choose to place your cell phone on your desk, you must have it turned over. Habitual cell phone use will result in a warning, first, then a request to place the phone in a common area. Another violation results in a detention.
Classroom Rules:
- Be respectful of others at all times.
- Cheating and plagiarism will not be tolerated. Honesty is crucial.
- No food or drinks in the classroom. Water in a clear container is permitted.
- One student may be out to bathroom at a time. Cell phone must be turned in to go to bathroom. Please do not abuse bathroom privileges. If you have to go, kindly wait until group work.
- Please pick up your own trash and refrain from damaging school property.

Late Work/Retake Policy:
- Late work is accepted up to five school days after due date with five points off for each day late. After five school days, any assignment that is turned in will earn a grade of 50%. Any assignment not turned in will earn a grade of 0%.
- If absent, students have five days to make up missing assignments. If absent, students have 5 days upon returning to school to make up missed tests.
- All make-ups must be done before or after school, not during a teacher prep period. Exceptions may be permitted if the student travels by bus. It is the student's responsibility to notify their coaches if sports practice must be missed.
- Test corrections can be made up to three days after a test is given.
